Find Out How Health Practices Can Influences Personality
Daily health practices influence personality in infinite ways within a feedback loop both interacting and changing the other. The issue is highly complex, and much research is still yet to come as to the extensity of the connection. It seems that daily health practices can encompass many of aspects of an individual’s life. Food choices, the quality of sleep, exercise, as well as the quality of social supports, affect overall characteristics of thinking, feeling and behaving. The opposite may also be true. Temperament and hardwired personality traits may influence an individual’s approach to daily health practices
Research suggests that personality traits allow some people to become more aware and implement health practices naturally. Specifically, people who are conscientious tend to follow through with positive health practices as opposed to those people who are less focused and distracted (Hampson, S. 2017-12-19). Understanding and empathy are of crucial importance in considering self or clients personality and implementing daily health practices as well as the way daily practices influence character.
Diet is an aspect of daily health regimen that can influence personality and the overall state of well-being daily. Amen, D. G., & Amen, T. (2016) also identify several types of brains which reflect individual characteristics and are essential for treatment planning. In discussing diet, the authors, explain their “Brain Warrior Diet” which consists of foods to eat and exclude for optimal brain and body functioning. They include factors that increase neurotransmitters in mood as well as concentration, focus, as well as contribute to fighting disease and increasing strength and confidence. Improvement in mood, such as, panic, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress all contribute to improving an individual’s thinking, feeling and behaving or personality.
